Privacy Policy

How we handle personal information submitted through this website.

Last updated: August 2026

This policy explains how Malinga & Mpofu Legal Practitioners (“the firm”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information collected through this website. It is separate from, and additional to, the professional duty of confidentiality and legal professional privilege that attach to information you give us in the course of seeking legal advice.

Information we collect

  • Information you give us. When you complete the enquiry form we collect your name, email address, telephone number, preferred office, the practice area you select and the description of your matter.
  • Information sent automatically. Like most websites, our server logs record the IP address, browser type, referring page and time of each request. These logs are used for security and diagnostics.
  • Embedded content. Our contact page embeds maps supplied by Google. Loading those maps involves a request to Google, which may set cookies subject to Google’s own privacy policy.

How we use it

  • To respond to your enquiry and, where appropriate, to open and administer a matter
  • To carry out the conflict-of-interest and client identification checks our professional obligations require
  • To maintain the security and proper functioning of the website
  • To comply with legal, regulatory and Law Society of Zimbabwe requirements

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use enquiry details for unsolicited marketing.

Disclosure

We disclose personal information only where it is necessary to act on your instructions (for example to counsel, the Deeds Registry, a court or a regulator), where we are required to do so by law, or where you have asked us to. Our service providers — such as our email and hosting providers — process information on our behalf and under obligations of confidentiality.

Retention

Enquiries that do not result in instructions are retained only as long as needed to deal with the enquiry and to run conflict checks. Where we are instructed, file records are retained for the period required by our professional obligations and applicable law.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. No transmission over the internet is entirely secure — please do not send highly sensitive material through the website form. Deliver it to us in person or by an agreed secure means.

Your choices

You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask us to delete information we no longer need to retain. Write to admin@malingampofu.com. We will respond within a reasonable period, subject to any legal or professional obligation that requires us to retain records.

Cookies

This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies of its own. Cookies may be set by the embedded Google Maps frames on the contact page, and by Google Fonts when stylesheets are loaded. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The version published on this page is the current one.
